The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the lives of people around the world over the last year. This pandemic has taken a toll on people’s mental health. Christian Living Communities and Casey’s Pond is working with the Colorado Spirit team to offer the “Together We Thrive” six-part support series. Together We Thrive will feature short video sessions and handouts offering professional and practical ways to support your whole well-being, so that we can find healthy ways to cope with our stress. Videos will be released on Facebook bi-monthly on Tuesdays, see the full schedule here.
The 6-part series kicked off on January 26th with “Self-Compassion in the Face of Disaster,” with Dr. Kristin Pyne. She explains how to face your emotions with self-compassion, knowing that these emotional responses are normal responses to an abnormal time. Instead of toughing it out or criticizing yourself, self-compassion invites you to acknowledge the difficult time you are experiencing and calls you to comfort and care for yourself just as you would comfort and care for a close loved one.
