"My mom passed away a few years ago, and my dad will be making the move to Casey's Pond in the early Spring.  We were so happy to hear about their Hand-in-Hand Program.  Since my dad has some health concerns, we were worried about him flying from Ohio to Colorado.  But were relieved to find out that Casey's Pond provides a medical traveling companion, so my sister and I will have peace of mind in this transition!  Our dad is so excited about being close to the grandkids.  Our whole family is happy we toured Casey's Pond and made the decision to have Grandpa close-by!

" We have been in contact with the Casey's Pond Membership Team regarding moving my mom to Casey's Pond.   It's a big transition but we can't believe how incredible their team is!  Not only have they helped support us through this whole process, but they found  a Senior Move Coordinator in my mom's city who is assisting us in clearing out and selling her home.  We are excited to get her to Casey's Pond where we know she will be in a safe, healthy and beautiful place!"

More than I ever anticipated the stress of leaving Manhattan - a humid climate and acclimating to the thin exceptionally dry air in Steamboat left me feeling anxious and unhappy. Had I made a mistake coming to Steamboat? And, then I met Wolf (Maintenance Team Member). He is a sweet, caring young man who greeted everyone with a welcoming smile of such warmth I felt an immediate connection and knew instinctively that things would be better. He gave me HOPE. Wolf is very bright with a most positive attitude and a cheerful smile, eager to resolve any problems. Among other things, he has helped me with my computer, set up my T.V., made helpful suggestions with decorating my villa and taught me how to clean an oil painting. He never fails to follow-up on the above. Though there have been some problems with the new building, it's the staff and people like Wolf who have made me a very happy resident of Casey's Pond. NO REGRETS - NONE!

What would we do without Annette (Assisted Living Culinary Team)? She's our jewel of the kitchen!!! She is jolly and always has a smile. Nothing is too much trouble for her to do for us.

I put Ty and Whitney (Culinary Services) together because they work together with the end result of being excellent! These are servers who are ALWAYS smiling and hustling to keep us all in good spirits. There must be times when they are annoyed or upset, but one would NEVER suspect it. They are intelligent young people and Casey's Pond is fortunate to have them.

Bryan Peden (transportation) is an outstanding driver. With a smile on his face, he very kindly takes us where we want to go. Each passenger is treated with respect and attention. Not only that - he totes all of our purchases so that we (little old ladies) are never burdened with anything. Brian does an excellent job. It's very seldom that we have to wait around for him to pick us up. He is always at the ready to get us off the bus and sees to it that we reach any entrance without slipping or falling. He's a gem!

I have just gotten to know Debbie (Williams, Business Management Director) for the past month or so. She couldn't have come into my life at a better time. If I call her on the phone, or if I meet her in the hall, she will take time to explain any financial problems. She takes time to make sure I understand. She couldn't be kinder. I respect her and her knowledge.

Linda (Litteral, Community Life Director) is very kind and friendly - she works hard to make things interesting for us (the residents at Casey's Pond). Her programs are always interesting and informative. She is always pleasant and I think she is the glue that holds this place together.

CASEY'S POND - THE VERANDA LIVE A NEW LIFE IN COMMUNITY AT CASEY'S POND IS AN EXPERIENCE OF WHICH WE HAVE BECOME QUITE FOND. IT PROMISES TO BE AN EXCITING ADVENTURE IN OUR OLDER AGE, MAKING NEW FRIENDS AND CREATING OUT OF LIFE'S HISTORY A NEW PAGE. THE SETTING HERE IS ON OF RELAXATION, CONTENTMENT, AND PEACE WHERE FROM MOST OF THE CARES OF LIFE AND THE WORLD THERE IS RELEASE. ACTIVITIES ARE VARIED AND PROGRAMMED TO STIMULATE AND KEEP US FIT, WITH AMENITIES AND AN ENVIRONMENT DESIGNED TO NOT LET US JUST SIT. THE STAFF WHO SERVE US ARE DEDICATED AND FRIENDLY TO THE CORE, AND PROVIDE FOR US A LIFESTYLE OF COMFORT AND SO MUCH MORE. THE AMBIENCE OF THE PHYSICAL PLANT AND SURROUNDING SCENE IS MORE LIKE A BOUTIQUE THAN THE TYPICAL RETIREMENT COMMUNITY THEME. THE INDEPENDENT VILLAS ARE VARIED, QUAINT, AND MOST PRIVATE WHILE THE COMMON AREAS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE AND LET EACH SHARE LIFE STORIES OF ADVENTURES, ACHIEVEMENTS, AND DREAMS. THERE IS A BONDING THAT RIVALS THAT OF MANY RELATIONAL SCHEMES. EACH PERSON IS ADAPTING TO A FACILITY THAT IS BRAND NEW, WITH A GLITCH HERE, AND A LEAK THERE, AND MORE THAN A FEW PROBLEM AREAS YET TO BE UNDERSTOOD AND SOLVE. BUT WITH AN UNDERSTANDING AND WILLINGNESS TO BE INVOLVED. THE WALKWAYS ARE HEATED AND TO MANY GOODIES WE ARE TREATED WHILE LISTENING TO MUSICAL GROUPS WHILE WE ARE SEATED. EXERCISE CLASSES, BRAIN BOOSTERS, BOOK CLUB, AND MORE ARE A SAMPLING OF THE ACTIVITY SCHEDULE WHICH DAILY COMES TO THE FORE. TO PARTAKE IN THIS RICH AND STIMULATIN GPLACE IS A GIFT FOR THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO MAKE IT THEIR NEW BASE. YES, TO THOSE WHO ASK IF WE ARE HAPPY HERE AT THE "POND" TO WHICH WE ARE VERY NEAR. - DAVID E. STREET, M.D.

Planning the transition to retirement-home living has been exhilarating to say the least. Mentally, we are ready for this chapter in our lives, but the scale down this summer has been daunting. The management team has consistently been responsive to our many questions, have provided numerous tours, and have generally been inspiring with the informative programs throughout the summer. We eagerly anticipate our new home and lifestyle.

Mom is so excited about moving to Casey's Pond. Imagine a 93-year-old woman moving across the country from her home town of 60 years! She is so gutsy and looking forward to the adventure, as she calls it. The staff at "the Pond" have been extraordinarily helpful in preparing for the move. And, I am so looking forward to having mom nearby.

How very fortunate we are to have Casey's Pond Senior Living established here in Steamboat Springs. With four levels of care and a spectacular setting, it will truly serve the needs of our aging population. It is not easy to make changes at any age, but with the knowledge and enthusiasm that Bryna and Kelly extend to new and prospective residents, the transition will be smooth and exciting for all involved. Our 95-year-old father is not thrilled about moving, but when he gets hugs from these ladies, his smile is huge! We are confident that he will thrive in this vibrant community.

After following the developments for  several years, we are excited that the Casey's Pond Senior Living community is about to open. Steamboat Springs and Routt County are fortunate to have such a fine full-service continuing care facility. Those of us who have toured the nearly-completed buildings feel it is even better than we anticipated.
